Ever since she was a little girl,
thirty-year-old Rose dreamed of
the day Harley would carry her across the threshold on their honeymoon. So what
if this isn’t her actual wedding day, and that she’s only here because Harley
was left at the altar just a few hours earlier?
Trading San Francisco for paradise
and swapping her bridesmaid’s bouquet for a Blue Hawaii, Rose hopes she can
finally escape the friend zone.
Once upon a time they had been more
than friends, but life got in the way. She’s spent every day since wishing
Harley would get a clue.
She’s always been his best friend.
He’s always been hers.
She’s in love with him.
He’s … well—it’s complicated.
“Do
you love her?”
Harley’s
temper flares as he meets my gaze. “Rose—”
“Do
you?”
“I
don’t know.” He rakes a hand through his hair. A beat later it falls right back
in his face. I long to reach out and touch it, but that isn’t my place anymore.
“Yeah. I think so. When I’m with her I’m a different man, but when I’m here
with you, I’m … I’m me.”
“God,”
I breathe. “That’s so much worse.” Fresh tears prick my eyes. I cover my face,
as if I could hide my torment or the despair that I feel in this moment.
As if I could hide anything from
this man.
“I
know.” Sadness chokes his voice, making the words almost impossible to hear.
Harley pulls me close, folding me in his arms, holding me the way he has a
thousand times before, but this time it’s infinitely different.
This
time, it’s the end of us.

Review
Harley & Rose is a best friend turns lover kind of romance that will makes you cry, weep and sob so badly but it hurts so damn good and you will acknowledge the beauty of love that Harley & Rose have.
I have always been so into best-friend-turn-lover tropes so when I read the blurb on TRSoR Promotions page I just couldn't help myself from signing up. And I'm truly glad that I did because I would never want to miss reading this beautiful story.
I love the way the story unfolds with the present and the past mixing together so well and I especially appreciate the past because it makes me admire Harley and Rose's long relationship be it them being friend or lovers, it makes their relationship more believable and solid.
I am totally shipping Harley and Rose's relationship as they went from best-friend to lover, to ex-lover and then becoming best-friend again and finally become lover. Again. It's kind of complicated to describe and it also sort of have the feeling of P.S. I Love You angle to it a bit. But Harley & Rose has it own charm and I just felt in love with their love story although it makes me cried so freaking much. And I'm about to tear up when I'm thinking of some scenes. Apparently you not only need (lots of) Kleenex when reading but also when typing the review. T.T
(or in other words, Things that I love about the book)
1. I love the wedding although I almost think that it is not going to happen. Thankfully it happened and it is soooooo bittersweet. I was so happy for them but so sad at the same time.
2. There is this one scene during the 'honeymoon' where Rose is so drunk that she mixed up the bartender's name from Mick to Rick to Dick lol she is so hilarious!
3. The video that Harley made for Rose. Oh my gosh. I didn't expect that coming and I love that he made that even though my feelings when reading that scene pretty much mirrored Rose's feeling. It just that I can feel how much Harley love her, cared for her and thinking of her in that moment.
(or in other words, Things that I dislike about the book)
1. Harley! Why oh why? I love him so much. I am feeling so sad that he doesn't get the ending that I wanted but I can feel that's coming and still it hurts so bad. :(
2. That ending! I know it hinted on some kind of HEA but I want more after all that crying. I hope there is more to it for Rose and Dermont because I love Dermon't character too and I want to see Rose being happy with him.
So yeah, that's about sum it up. I would recommend Harley & Rose if you are a fan of best-friend turn lover theme and wouldn't mind getting your heart breaking into million of pieces because it is genuinely a beautiful love story. Just prepare tons of Kleenex and if you don't want to be sobbing loudly (like me) in public, better read it in private or people will be wondering why the hell are you crying so hard over a book :)
