Synopsis:

Lily Brook works in men's underwear, but she would love to get Jack Stewart out of his. Lily hasn't dated anyone worth writing home about for years. So when she meets the impossible and impossibly handsome Jack Stewart--well, you could say he piques her interest. It doesn't matter that he's the cockiest asshole this side of the Mason-Dixon line. Jack Stewart is destined for success. With his designer suits, intense hazel eyes, and penthouse apartment, he's the total package. But he's also the manager of Hamilton's Department Store--the store where Lily could make or break her career. He would never fraternize with an employee. And there's no way in hell Lily would risk her job on the hottest guy in Philadelphia. Right? But she can't stop imagining what he'd look like in a pair of Flash Fit's sexy male underwear... He shouldn't dip his wick in the company's ink, but he can't resist Lily's curvaceous body and wacky charm. He wants Lily--in the break room, the dressing area, everywhere. Making a move on Jack could end her career. But can Lily resist his Hard Sell?

Review:

My Rating: (4  Stars)

The Hard Sell is a laugh-out-loud romantic comedy with the right amount of romance and lots of humor. It is definitely a department store love story at it's best.

Meet Lily Brook, the kick-ass heroine that knows what she wants and work her ass off to achieve that. I am really liking her character as she could be outrageous and giving me the hilarity of the day but she could also makes me admire her persistence and hardworking attitude in the her line of work. I love that she sells underwear like no one's business and knows her way to get customers buy her company's product. If I am an employer I would definitely get an awesome head hunter to snatch her away but I guess she is pretty loyal with Flash Fit ;)

Meet Jack Stewart a.k.a Jack Hamilton, the hot, brooding department manager that like to drunken text in French and draw Bart-freaking-Simpson on his clipboard at work. He seems like a Mr. Perfect with total package since he seems to have it all with his penthouse apartment and his expensive designer suits. However, he have this one big secret that kept hidden because it had destroyed him once and he had worked hard to be what he is at now.

(or in other words, Things that I love about the book)
1. Jack (non-existent) singing ability LOL. He is aware of it but just doesn't care whose eardrums he's about to assaulted when he sometimes feels like singing. I mean if there is one guy that look like Jack, I would definitely endure him singing just to see him passionately singing Crush by David Matthews with all the fists punching.
2. There is this scene where Jack was kind of avoiding Lily and Lily was wondering why Jack is behaving like that. I love this monologue of her.
Maybe he's avoiding me?
No way. I'm adorable.
That got me chuckling! She is so full of herself but she is too damn funny. I can't believe her :D
(or in other words, Things that I can live without from the book)
1. Jack's psycho ex-girlfriend, Crystal. God, that girl have a place of herself now in my list of hateful characters in literary world. I am a little bit unsatisfied that she doesn't get what she deserved for all the hateful things that she did. Perhaps I will be a happier if she got a complaint, a slap or anything really.
2. Lily's reaction when she knows who Jack really is. I think maybe she needs to hear first his reasoning instead of running just like that. But anyway, the got a HEA at the end so maybe I'm okay with that.

All things considered, I think The Hard Sell is really a fabulous love story with witty and humorous banter and there are several steamy scenes that turn up the temperature when you read it so I would totally recommend this book to romance lovers who love a good romcom.

So, that's all from me now. More reviews up later!

Yours truly,
Abby
